How can I protect my Canon EOS 40D digital SLR Camera from splashes of water while a boat trip?

I am planning to spend my vacation in the Philippines and spend some time on the island hopping in Palawan (Honda Bay Island). They said the boat trip usually takes over an hour and can sometimes difficult. I was wondering if there are pockets of water-proof camera that could buy to protect the camera in case of splashing water, or worse of falling into the camera water (shallow water hope). Can you suggest something please.
