I sell a digital SLR Camera with memory card and case.
What should I know about selling online. Amazon charges a fee or is there a place where you can sell without the fee? I'm using Amazon as an example, but I just want some tips on how to sell this thing.
Put it on Craigslist. It is free and not have to deal with shipping and insurance.
What is a Digital SLR Lens Camera?
We all know the digital age has taken over as far as cameras are concerned. Most of us own a compact Digital Camera and can point it and click away and get reasonable photos. But how do we take it a step further? The big zoom lens cameras of the professional photographer always appeared a bit daunting to the ‘click and go’ photographer and the same still applies to the move from compact camera to SLR.
Firstly, what does SLR mean? It is an acronym for Single Lens Reflex. That basically means that when you look through your viewfinder you are seeing exactly what the lens sees. The advantages of a Digital SLR Lens Camera is that you can change the lens, that there is practically no lag time so you can take action photos, and digital SLRs have large image sensors that produce high quality photos.
Because a digital SLR gives better quality photos than a compact camera you should expect it to be pricier. In truth you can get a Digital SLR Lens Camera for about the same price as a top end compact camera. However, that is only where it starts, the prices can easily go into the thousands and it doesn’t stop with the camera. Because the lenses are interchangeable, you will need the right lens for your style of photography. You will also need a carry case or neck strap too. The digital SLR is not going to fit in your pocket like a compact does.
If you enjoy taking video as well as stills then it is more complicated using an SLR. SLRs usually don’t have auto focus in video mode so shooting a video would require manual focus. Some top end SLRs do have auto focus.
If you want to take a zoom photo with a compact camera you just push a button to engage the electronic zoom. With an SLR you have to use the right lens and manually zoom.
There are good and bad points to both types of cameras but in the end it is down to the type of photos you take and the quality you require from them. If you want to take professional looking photos, you want to have more control over your photos, you want action footage, you want lenses you can interchange and you want to take photos in dim light then an SLR is perfect for you.
However, if you want to be able to take your camera with you in your pocket or bag, be able to zoom at the click of a switch, and you are happy snapping away taking pictures then maybe a compact suits you better.
It really is a personal choice only limited by the size of your pocket.
