Canon Powershot Rebel
I'm debating between the Canon PowerShot S5 IS, Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi and the Nikon D40. Any suggestions?
I just enter the picture, and I considering a career involving photography, so you want to start with a good camera.
So people usually your DSLR Frist I recommend the D40. I have a Nikon D40 and I love it. The D40 has a full manual mode, Flexible Program, Aperture Priority mesh, the speed priority modes. These are the same modes on all DSLR. It also has several other modes planned for things like portrait, night sitting, etc. As a photographer improves and learn to make better use of additional metering modes seldom get used so commonly found in cameras and most of the armor is considered not required professional cameras. I feel I have a lot of experience as a photographer and performs well for me, but I can give my 12 y / o grandson if set in the program and can get good usable pictures as well. His photography is improving as is already learning to use many of the functions itself (yes I am a proud Granpa). Also do not get caught in the megapixel hype and instead look to the complete sensor output. See the article I linked below the D40 will do everything a beginner to intermediate photographer needs at a great price. Comes with a lens of 18-55. Is allowed to use any other money to buy more accessories. And by the time you exceed the cameras were advanced to the point that most of what is on the market now would be obsolete. I bought a D300 years past and had only a few months when the D700 came out. The fee will also serve well, but I am a Nikon person, so we suggest. I have friends who are very happy with their Canon and take great pictures. I was reading in a couple of eyefetch Forum months about a person who bought a Nikon lens and dropped it, breaking it. It was sent to Nikon and could not be fixed. Nikon had no obligations to this person had dropped the goal was not a defect in materials or workmanship. But a new lens Nikon sold at half price. Things like that build loyalty with both the D300 and D40 available to me often take the D40, when I am shooting for fun. Its almost weightless and fun and easy to use
