Minolta DSLR-5d thinking of buying Minolta digital SLR Camera. Auto Focus is fast enough?
Hello everyone, I have a number of Age 35 mm autofocus SLR bodies – 3xi, 5xi, 7000 with a number of objectives: Sigma 70-200 f2.8 telephoto zoom Sigma 400mm f5.6 and I plan to buy a Minolta 5D SLR. I would use these lenses in the body of the 5D SLR, I know it is possible, but would like some information on people who have, or have used the new Minolta 5D. The autofocus is fast enough? I take lots of photos of sports: rugby, hockey, etc., as well as low light photograpy concert. Can the camera manage the pace??? I would appreciate any comments. Thank you very much!
You know, of course, the Konica-Minolta 5D has been discontinued? KM sold its camera division to Sony. The replacement of the 5D is the Sony Alpha 100. I Minolta fans, but USM Canon and Nikon AF-S would be a definite advantage if you are shooting sports. However, since we already seem to have a large investment in a tall glass, and you have been happy shooting sports with a 7000 or 3xi so far, so I doubt you have speed problems with the 5D AF. Hats off to any of the shooting sports 7000! You may also want to check compatibility with the Sigma lenses, as some of the major goals of Sigma had compatibility problems with more cameras new Minolta (like 7).
