Olympus Camera Flashes

My Olympus E410 keeps flashing none stop How do I rectify this?I have tried reading the manual.?
My camera flashes for a long time before it takes a picture.
Does anyone know how I can rectify this?
Changing the settings does not help.If I put it on auto,it does not give a good picture.
Thanks for your help
As explained in the user manual: the flash strobe helps the camera focus in low light situations. To turn this feature off, navigate to Setup menu 1 (Spanner 1) and set “AF Illuminator” to “OFF”.
Note: you may notice a decrease in AF performance in low light situations. AF operation can be improved if you manually focus the lens close to your subject beforehand.
Olympus E-520, Dslr Camera With 10mp
There is 7 increase in features and performance of E-520 compared to preceding, E-510. There is LCD changes to 2.7 “, the auto focus with contrast detection capability, focus detection on the face, higher frame rate (3.5 fps). Improvement also occurred in the automatic gradation, wireless flash control, and image in stabilizer in shake mode.
Technically, E-520 had higher total thickness resolution than the preceding, but the megapixel that can be effectively used to capture images exactly the same as the E-510, which is 10 megapixel. Thus, the resolution in the E-520 and E-510 is not different. Fortunately for the resolution which does not change there was compensated with the ability of focus on face detection automatically but to be able to take advantage of this feature you must be taking in live view mode which is shoting directly from the LCD to see it.
Talk about the Live View feature on the E-520, I had find some differences when compared to E-510. Light dark contrast, which was often not appropriate expectations can now be addressed with the help of default contrast detection that available on E-520. In addition to image stabilizer system in this series are also added with shock-proof when you take pictures in panning mode.
