Olympus or Panasonic waterproof camera?
I’ve decided to buy a new camera and think one of the following will suit my needs:
Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 or 8000
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT1 or DMC-TS1
I’m a bit confusing on the release dates as there’s been rumors of people ordering Olympus ones and getting it already but it says pre-order.. and the Panasonic shows its in stock but somewhere said not released til April on Amazon.
I’m also a bit confused on which Panasonic is for the U.S.? I’d prefer to buy it in a store because I may have problems, but don’t mind ordering online.
In the case I ended up with one of the European versions what other extras would I have to buy to make it work here? And does anyone know if the warranty is covered?
Lastly… what do ya know of either camera review wise? I’m not an expert photographer, but I like something with a nice crisp picture and nice video recording. Thanks for the help!
If you live in the US, you will want to buy the US model .. If you buy a “gray market” camera from outside the US, you will not have a warranty on the camera.
The US version is called the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 and is supposed to ship in April for $399
