Video Camera Glasses
It will be an infra-red CCTV camera work if mounted on the inside (pointing outdoors through glass)?
I'm creating a closed circuit camera television is equipped with IR LED. It would be easier for me to mount on the inside, pointing outside my unit. This would save me drilling through the wall of the house to run power and video cable through. The question is, Will the transition through the glass prevents the infrared light, making it ineffective?
Without the LEDs I would say definitely OK. With the LEDs, such as taking a photo flash through a window, you may need to experiment with the angle so that just does not see a reflection in the window.

There are a number of other features that can come with a video door system as well, depending on the manufacturer and type of system that you purchase. For security measures, there are some systems that come with window sensors, glass breakage sensors, motion sensors, smoke alarms and alarm sirens.
For the highest security, there are video systems that can trigger an alarm that is sent to a security patrol or policeman. This way you can always be informed and also have a policeman at your house within a few minutes.
A common concern with systems this advanced is if you have a pet. But with the technology today, there are motion detectors that use an infrared technology to help prevent false alarms from going off. You can set the infrared beam high enough so that your pets can roam around freely and it will still pick up an intruder moving around.
It is amazing what technology has become in just a few years. While society continues to grow, so too does crime. Whatever your reason is for having a video door intercom system, there are a number of options to choose from with an array of features.
